We’ve constantly been working on our new project and are currently all set with the levels. We and we… Marco’s been working on it. Well, me too, but on a conceptual basis. I think the game is/was too hard and we really should take it to this century instead of dwelling in the 80’s. I have a few ideas of making it more interesting.

No, we refuse telling you what it is yet. We are moving in slowmotion as it is and we won’t do as many others; telling the world about a project that is canceled the next week.

I really hope we can get an alpha out before the year turns 2010.

Time flies! Doesn’t it? Seven years in development… And only two remakes. Wow. I’m impressed by myself!

Really. We have a new remake in the making. The thing is I don’t want to make it official until I’ve made some graphics for it. As I’ve mentioned before, the coding is almost done, but Marco have to rewrite parts of it when I come running with my stupid ideas! Well, let’s see about that.

We are most certainly aiming for an Alpha of this mysterious game in 2009. I really can promise that. Marco have given me money to do the work! Did it really had to boil down to this? Pathetic.

Wanted!
If you are a skilled 3d programmer in either Dark Basic Pro, Blitz 3D, C++, Java or even XNA.. Or whatever. I like to talk to you about some other projects that I would like to make. Hell, if you are a skilled 3D artist, maybe the three of us we could team up, you creating my ideas. That would be really nice, but quite unrealistic? Whatever. You are welcome anyways. You don’t need to be skilled either, when giving it a second thought. Enthusiastic is enough.

After quite some time we finally release something. And what is it? A patch of our smallest title Highnoon?! Fabulous. Well. It’s more than a patch. Kind of.

The code’s been rewritten, all backgrounds have been replaced and expanded. Some special effects have been introduced. New gameplay assets have been added, like the bag of money now dropping from the wagon. You shoot it and you’ll earn money. The scoring is reprogrammed and is now counted in money instead of hits. First bullet is more valuable than the last.

It’s pretty much the same otherwise. According to me, Robert Bergström, this will be our final version of Highnoon. We now bury the old cowboy and move on to projects of more fun. We have some old code to dust off, you know. More of that later. Enjoy this small release while waiting for the big fish.

Yes. Last year I joked about letting Highnoon get an update next year. We are here now! And guess what? We’re actually working on it! I’ve made some new backgrounds and came up with some ideas that I programmed into the code which Marco will clean up later on.. ;-) Maybe the overall graphics will get a boost too, I have a few ideas, but that’s it. How can you make this game any more interesting without making a new game out of it? Figured. When we release the “patch”, it’ll be the last patch for Highnoon, that’s for sure. Maybe we’ll leave TWIP alone too. Just maybe.

We have, to this date, a brand new project that is close to an Alpha version. I must do some graphics on it first (said that last year as well) before I want to release it to you guys. When released, we may need your help with one thing… You’ll know when you see it. Oh, I love to tease!

Lots of other stuff is taking time, my family, my business, my Crysis mod team project, my other level design projects… Marco isn’t as busy and hopefully this year and the next will bring us back on the map.

Marco has made numerous improvements on the program that finds pokes for your favourite speccy game! Now the version is FINAL!

Go get it!

Yes, we are too. Recently the guestbook’s been attacked by spam and I installed the reCaptcha plugin to prevent this. From now on, when making a guestbook entry, you have to type in the words from the box below the comment textarea. Hope this will work…!

Other news? Well, the ZX LIfe Shield Pro has been released in a new version as you know… We are still working on at least two new titles, but we still won’t tell you anything about these… Tease, tease.

Download the new version!

Marco A.G. Pinto has released a new version of our “cheat” program for Speccy snapshots. The new version has the number 2.1.

This version requires directx 9.0c (october 2006). It’s smaller in size, is faster and have some minor GUI improvements. Marco also fixed some bugs.

More info in the download zip.

We finally moved to a better host. Right now we are using the wrong theme for this site. I have plans for a new one, or reinstall our old.

How about our projects? Well. One project is almost done code-wise, but no graphics for it yet. High Noon is getting a few fixes and additions.

We are also thinking of starting an another project as well. Then we’ll have two project in the barrel. He he.

Well now. The patch to 2.1 is here. Doesn’t do that much, but here’s what:

  • For you with low-end computers; this can be the thing. The entire code is adapted to DB Pro way of thinking (remember we started in plain vanilla DB) and the code’s been modulated and rewritten.
  • Two new sounds; camera shutter when taking screenshots and pick up/drop sounds. How Next Gen…
  • Some bugfixes

Please note that those fixes aren’t included in the big download, so if you’re new; download the Final version and this one. Install the Final then overwrite the media folder with the contents in the 2.1 zip. You know the drill.

I promised to release a patch for Highnoon, but that never happened. Sorry about that.

However, Marco has rewritten some code for TWIP, optimizing it by using smart functions (the old code was somewhat based on the old Dark Basic), making it go smoother on low-end computers. We also added some new sounds and other small things. This download will hopefully be available in the near future. I must review the files first then make a setup file. Uh-oh. Next year? He he.

Our new project is what you might expect, status quo. Marco has done some additional coding on it, but I haven’t had the time to make graphics for it. It bothers me every day… Hopefully the pressure will build and make it unbearable! We have some nice music for it though.

Stay tuned…
